The US labor market beat economist\u2019s expectations with 177,000 new jobs added in April, while the unemployment rate remained unchanged from March\u2019s report<\/a> at 4.2% according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n

Healthcare accounted for some of the largest job gains, with 51,000 new roles added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Government added 10,000 new jobs. However, federal government employment declined by 9,000 last month and is down 26,000 since the beginning of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leisure and hospitality added 24,000 new roles last month, while the professional and business services sector added 17,000 jobs in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
