Now is the time to follow-up with a\nwell-crafted post-interview thank you note.&nbsp;&nbsp;\nYou will not get the job simply because you sent a thank note, but you\nwill be remembered for not sending one. &nbsp;If the decision comes\ndown to you and one other candidate, you want to be the one who wrote a\nthoughtfully composed thank you note with substance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Creating a template ahead of time helps with the interview\npreparation, including the points to focus on as follow up.&nbsp; It\u2019s okay to use\na thank you note template when writing your note. However, &nbsp;be sure to customize it enough so that doesn\u2019t\nlook like one. In your email, reference something unique to your conversation\nwith the interviewer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First,\na Few E-mail Reminders<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow this set of reminders to assure your message is timely and\nappropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Send within 24 hours following the interview.<\/li><li>Send from the same email address included on\nyour resume. Use one with a professional tone.<\/li><li>Avoid sending from your phone as formatting\nmay change.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Thank You Note Guidelines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your e-mail is most likely to be opened and read if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The subject line includes the words \u201cThank\nyou\u201d with the job title and interview date.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>An email with \u201cno subject\u201d\nline can appear unprofessional and careless. When you create your subject line,\nit should be specific and not overly creative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Prepare your e-mail in business formal\nlanguage.<ul><li>Use professional terms, such as those\nassociated with the position you seek.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Be clear and concise.<ul><li>This gives the impression that you have\nthought about the interview and can express yourself efficiently.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Vary sentence length. Best to keep each one under\n20 words.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Break content into short paragraphs of 2 to 3\nsentences each.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Be sure to individualize thank you e-mails for\neach interviewer you met.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thank You Note E-mail Format<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Paragraph 1: Begin your note with a \u201cthank you\u201d for the time that they extended to speak with you, followed by a compliment about the interview process, a key takeaway about the position that excites you, and how this solidifies your confidence in your ability to be successful in the position.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This will let\nthe recruiter know that you paid attention and reassure them of your\ncompatibility.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Paragraph 2: Refer back to the interview\ndiscussion, focusing on the experiences\/skills you bring to the position.\nSuccinctly state your unique qualifications and readiness to contribute to the\nposition and company.<\/li><li>Paragraph 3: Briefly state your enthusiasm for\njoining the company, and your availability for a follow up call or e-mail.<\/li><li>The last line states your understanding of\nwhen you will receive an interview follow up. <\/li><li>\u201cBest regards\u201d or \u201cSincerely\u201d is suitable for the\nclosing.&nbsp; Below\nyour signature, make sure to include your full contact information and any\nprofessional links, such as your LinkedIn profile or other online portfolio.&nbsp;&nbsp; Your personal Facebook, Instagram or Twitter\nshould not be included unless you are asked for them. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more interview tips check out, <a href=\"https:\/\/dlcinc.com\/words-to-use-in-an-interview\/\">Words to Use in an Interview<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Your big interview is over.
