Just as you would ask your\nemployees to perform specific tasks, you should also listen to what they ask of\nyou, too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Be Transparent<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cbecause\nI said so\u201d approach to managing is a dead tactic. Instead, try to be as open\nand honest as you can about why you implement certain policies or why changes\nare being made. Employees respect a manager when they can understand their\nthought process more clearly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Resist Micro Managing<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When a boss\ngets in the habit of constantly interfering with their employee\u2019s process, then\nyou inadvertently create a child\/parent relationship. Resist the urge to\nmicromanage and simply delegate tasks and wait for results. Focus on handling\nissues as they arise instead of looking for ways to avoid them. It\u2019s not effective,\nand it tells your employees that you don\u2019t trust or respect them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Have an Open-Door Policy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees\nrespond best to managers that want to hear from them. An open-door policy lets\nemployees know that they can come to you if there\u2019s an issue without having to\nworry about the red tape. Listening to your employees\u2019 concerns can go a long\nway in helping you develop better procedures moving forward. All in all, it\ncould help you identify weak points and adjust your processes accordingly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A manager\u2019s attitude can undoubtedly impact the workplace.
