It’s Administrative Professional’s Week! Administrative professionals play a key role in the day-to-day operations of your organization. They\u2019re the reason processes run smoothly, errors are limited, and everything gets done. In the rush of business, sometimes their work can get overlooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Administrative Professionals\u2019 Day, you should take some time to show your appreciation for all they do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are five ways to show your administrative professionals<\/a> how thankful you are for all they do and remind them of how much their work is appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Surprise on Their Desk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Have you ever walked into work with a surprise on your desk for an occasion, whether it be a work anniversary, birthday, etc.? If you have, you know how nice of a feeling it could be to start your day with a surprise on your desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This surprise can be many different things. It can be a decoration, such as a \u201cThank You\u201d balloon, a coffee sitting on the desk, donuts next to it, a little bag of goodies, or much more. No matter what you choose, the goal remains the same: for your admin to walk into work and start their day off feeling appreciated right away<\/em>. You want to put a smile on their face \u2013 and this will do just that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. One-on-One Lunch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Administrative Professional’s Day is the time to show your admin just how much you appreciate them, so it\u2019s a good idea to take the time and do something just the two of you. Treat your administrative professional to a one-on-one lunch, just you and them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes the work an administrative professional does can get overlooked, especially compared to the work of producing employees. This is why it\u2019s important to focus on your administrative employees specifically on Administrative Professionals\u2019 Day<\/a>. Although you\u2019re grateful for your entire team, this is their day, and taking the time to take them out and connect with them one-on-one is important. Buy them lunch and tell them you don\u2019t know how you\u2019d get by without them, because believe us \u2013 you don\u2019t!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Employee Spotlight\/Award Nomination<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If your company has anything that goes out to the company, such as an employee spotlight or an award  \u2013 do what you can to get your admin included, especially if it comes out around Administrative Professional’s Day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, showing your appreciation as a manager or team member is important and helps your administrator feel good. However, their name being praised for the whole company to see is going to help them feel better about the work they\u2019re doing, and grateful they work for a company that recognizes their dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Reward a Job Well Done<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Of course, any of the things above will be meaningful to your admin. However, if you\u2019re looking to do something bigger for them, there are many things you can do to reward a job well done. Think beyond a lunch or coffee and go a bit bigger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do they deserve an afternoon off? Award it. Are they obsessed with Starbucks? Perfect, grab them a gift card. Do they deserve a raise? This could be the perfect time to let them know it\u2019s in the works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are a few bigger things you can do to thank your administrative professional. They will appreciate anything you do, but the bigger the thank you, the more appreciated they\u2019ll feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Thank You Card<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, you can never go wrong with a \u2018Thank You\u2019 card. Pick one up and sign it. Not just with your name but write a meaningful message on it to make it personal. If you manage a bigger team that also works with your admin, get them to do the same. You can say thank you a million times, but handwritten sentiments will stick more. Also, they\u2019ll <\/a>have something to keep at their desk that will remind them of how appreciated they are year-round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
